Dear friends,
From time to time, I have been telling about the new business models of the automotive brands
This time I wanted to mention a new application of the very well known brand;Toyota.
Toyota has recently launched a brand new car sharing app, so called Toyota Share, in cooperation with its authorized dealers, rent-a-car and leasing departments . In addition, Toyota has launched an unmanned car rental service called” Chokunori” and both are considered as Common Service System.

The Common Service System works briefly as follows::
Users are not charged any membership or registration fees.
Unit prices are kept fairly reasonable for short-term use.
Clean, well-maintained and safe cars are allocated to users.
The vehicle fleet includes B and C segment cars, minivans and even SUV models.
An application-specific digital structure is being used. Plus, Toyota offers Smart Key Box service which enables users unlock and lock the cars with the password that comes to their smartphones. In addition, the application called TranslogII monitors vehicle locations and operating performance via satellite. Easy booking of vehicle, unlocking, locking and paying the rental price via smartphone became possible.
Toyota’s further goals are to provide payment diversity in the near future, reward driving in compliance with traffic rules and provide car sharing services to corporate customers.
Chonukori service leads serious savings during rental transactions.
The most important difference of this service from Toyota Rent a car service is the return of the car to the place of departure. The lease includes a fuel card. There is also a new digital application available for this service.
We often see automotive brands that are investing heavily in the sharing economy.
Price Waterhouse Coopers report has revealed that the sharing economy size, which was $ 13 billion globally in 2013, will reach $ 335 billion in 2025. Don’t you think this report clearly explains why automotive brands are in the race for investment?
