Today, I would like to briefly share my views on the Global Automotive Survey published by KPMG in last year.
This survey, compiled from the views of 907 top managers from 43 different countries, gives us their outstanding predictions about future.
In short, their views are as follows:
1. By 2025, fuel cell vehicles would be more
attractive than battery-powered electric car. This prediction puts forward that hydrogen-fueled cars
can be sold at competitive prices in 10 years time.
2. There is no clear view of the future of diesel engine cars. I think diesel engines will continue production in
accordance with the new emission standards up to 2040.
3. The presence of internal combustion engines will continue over the next 20 years as well.
Demands and pressures will increase for infrastructure of autonomous cars. The first smart road, namely
17.Juni Boulevard, is under construction in Berlin, Germany for
autonomous transport. The 1.5 km part out of
3.8 km of total length was already completed early this year. On this road, 40 terabytes of data will be transferred every day. Parking lots are being equipped with automatic charging points. This road, which is expected to be completed in 2020, will be an important reference for other countries.
5. The automotive world believes that new revenue channels are in the digital ecosystem and data-transfer between
vehicles.
6. Since 2025, the demand for vehicle ownership is expected to decrease significantly. Car sharing will be more
and more in our lives.
7. We will see significant investments and employment growth in data management.
8. China will be the country in which data management is most widely applied in automotive sector.
9. In next decade, human transport and freight will begin to use the same business models.

Dear friends,

This report confirms that the share of vehicle production will decrease by up to 5% in EU countries. As I mentioned earlier in my previous articles, we have new opportunities to meet the production needs of EU countries being transformed to technological development base. We will see in five years time as to how we make this production shift beneficial to us.
